I just got a 400ex and I can only get it to run by pushing it battery is good but makes clicking noise when I puts start button

1. Check for Corrosion or plain rust on the battery terminals. They often get rust or corroded and a simple polishing will fix it up.
2. Check the starter button. for failure.
