Just bought this atv. No reverse. lever gets it in reverse but I can hear and feel no gear engagement. What would be the next steps in diagnosing what to repair and or replace. Forward gear is strong and smooth. Where Would be the the cut off line on cost for parts to get reverse back versus getting a used trans and exchange it? thx for any response Karl 15

Try adjusting the linkage that goes from the shift handle back to the transmission. Sometimes thats all it is. Don't know the prices on new parts vs used trannys.

Any luck on the transmission? I just picked up a 2004 trailboss with a broken output shaft. Will be taking Transmission apart soon and want to know if you found any weak spots I need to pay attention to.
