carb issues on big red 250es

just replaced a new carburetor and fuel and air filter and petcock and a new spark plug just a few weeks ago ran great unil yesterday i went out to crank it up, at first saw gas coming out of drain line below bowel but it quit so i prime it up ran for a couple minutes then quit likes it not getting any fuel.pulled off line to see is gas is coming out of petcock which it is,anyone have any suggestion i wonder if it possible that i might have a fuel filter on backwards, on new plug look dark black .

Sounds like it is fuel fouling out since fuel was coming out of the drain line and spark plug was dark black. I take it the plug was wet with fuel? If you clean the spark plug and reinstall it does it start backup?
