ATV will not shift automatic or manual

I have a 2004 john deere buck EX and it will not shift from second gear,it will go into high and low gear and reverse but stays in second gear.Can anyone give me advise or ideas on what the problem might be

Hello,
I know nothing about these machines, but I might be able to help. What kind of system is it. I am pretty adept at autmobile transmissions. The older ones had valve bodies and a usual problem regarding shifting was a sticking valve or broken spring in the valve body. I have also noticed that on many newer vehicles that the do have electric shifts usually by some type of solenoid or sensor and sometimes they are computor controlled. If it is computor controlled there should be some way to display any error codes regarding your vehicle. Let me know as much about your system if you can.
