Suzuki King Quad 300 valve adjustment

Dear All
struggling to get access to King Quad (1997) head to adjust valve clearances. Am I missing something or is it just plain difficult. Got access from top ok using long socket extension through hole in frame but struggled to get access to exhaust valve. Almost impossible to feeler gauge (gage) the clearances.

check here to see if they have a service manual for you to download for free on your atv.
once on the link scroll down and look on the right under arsip blog, click on different years and months to see if one is posted.

you need a small ratchet to adjust the valve on it have the same on my 96.
