Thanks for the info Wolf! I went there many years ago and remember having a great time. If anyone else has any good ideas or is interested in an event such as this, please let us know. We are going to start planning this out soon.

By the way, a place that's on my mind is Brimstone Recreation. Such a great scenic and very mountainous adventure ride it could be? Anyone interested in it? Check it out at http://www.brimstonerecreation.com/

sounds good, i have alot of people around here wanting to go ride though. not sure how far they will all travel.
where is this place at and how far from Ringgold georgia area?
looks like it's higher in cost to ride than houston valley. $15.00 vs $5.00 to ride all day
what are the restrictions? does your atv need registration? noise level etc...

atvrideronline ride for southern riders, land between the lakes in western tenn/kentucky. lots of trails, everything from basic trails for beginners to deep mud and extreme hill climbs. 15.00 gets u 3 days of riding from sun up to sun down, bathrooms, and fuel and supplies are less than 10 miles away. check it out.

Hey Thad,
although... Kentucky would be a little closer for some of the northern readers to join in on
put it together and i'll wade through Hell in gasoline underwear to try to get there.
i'll need a little advance warning so i can plan the shop to be shut down for the weekend, we'll probably stay overnight.

There's a perfect place in Northern Alabama right off of I65 to host an event like this and I'm sure the owner will be more than willing to help out. Checkout http://www.wilbornsatvtrails.com/ This place has been going strong for the last couple of years and keeps getting better and better with concessions and rv hookups, not to mention primitive camping and night riding too. Atv's, dirtbikes, buggies/rock crawlers, 4X4's, you name it and you can bring them out!

i'd imagine you are missing alot of the trails, i can ride all the way to I75 on one trail, and can ride all the way Bonny oaks drive on the other.
another trail takes you to garfield road, through the tnt area.
why don't we meet up and ride and i'll show you the rest of the trails
summit they decided to build a ballfield on the trails, so it's nonexistent now.
standifer gap they put a subdivision in and it's gone too.
But you are in luck a friend and I built a track in tunnell hill georgia on private property.(SO IT WONT BE GOING AWAY) and we are talking about putting in a mudbog as well.
You are welcome to come out and ride the track. we are getting tired of racing each other (it always ends up the same, my beefed up blaster smokes his ltz400 on the track, but put us in a drag race and he has me hands down) and houston valley is still open in ringgold.
Houston valley is a pretty good place to ride, it reminds me of the hunter road trails, but you have to be careful in the curves as traffic goes both ways. and you wouldn't want to meet someone head on.
but it is 5 dollars per atv or dirtbike to ride all day.

absolutely an awesome place to ride!!!
do you know where hunter road is?
if not take i75 north to the ooltewah exit. (exit 11)
turn left at the end of the ramp, go to the second red light and turn left. (this is hunter road) there will be a kangaroo directly across the street, and a krystal off to the left at this intersection.
stay on hunter road for approximatelyt 2.5-3 miles. you'll see a child development center on the left, and a road rightbefore it.
turn on the road right before it. this takes you to hunter middle school.
go all the way down to the school and park n the parking lot. as you approach the school you'll see the powerlines start off the the right. just park and ride.
the begginning of the powerlines is an open area with jumps, if you go through to the otherside, you'll cross the road and the trails continue, go to the end of these trails and turn right and the trails continue across the street there.
these trails can be difficult so stay to the trails on the right, unless you want to challenge yourself to some seriously deep ruts uphill and downhill.

im up at prentice cooper or houston valley almost every weekend, and i second prentice cooper. great place to ride. VERY WELL GROOMED! i cant say enough about this place. you can definatly wind out your quad here, a few jumps are thrown in for good measure. houston valley is pretty nice to, but i always break something over there, maybe i need to slow down on the rocks? one thing i hate about houston is blind corners. but just be catious in the turns and be on your side of the trails and you'll be fine. aetna mountain is also a great place to ride. lots of property, privately owned. but rock crawlers and mud buggies are permitted as well. also alchol is permitted. but other than the beer and huge mud buggie ruts, its an awesome spot. and for all you XC racers, aetna is the perfect training spot. tight trees, mud, ruts, everything you could ask for. as a matter of fact i'll be at prentice cooper this weekend to ride. we're always open to ride with new people. i'll be on the red 400ex with +2 A-arms, Elka shocks, and a helmet cam on the side of his helmet. and my father will be on a yellow honda foreman450. drop by and say hi :]
