HONDA RECON WONT START.. PLEASE HELP!

i have an 05' honda recon/trx-250 es. it worked just fine up until this summer. i went to start it and it started very slowly but it still worked. then in about august, it wouldnt start at all. every time i push the start button the neutral light dims and then there are a bunch of quiet clicking sounds. the bike will start with the pull start but it wont change gears/ i have a thumb shift. when the bike dies, the 1st gear light blinks 3 times, other sites have said this is a problem with the angle sensor but i recently replaced the angle sensor and it still wont start or switch gears. i dont know what else i can do.

any help would be GREATLY appriciated, thanks in advance
