Tao Tao Will not start.

I have 2 tao tao quads and the electric start on one will not fire it up. It just makes a constant humming sound and thats it. I have swapped the starter, solenoid, switch and other parts and it still wont start but the other will start with the pats form the broke one. anyone had this situation?

when you had the left hand cover off to exchanged starters did you rotate the engine over by hand? you need to do this to make sure it not the engine. if you didn't, just remove the small cover on the side and insert a 14mm socket using a small extension and rachet and turning the engine counter clockwise see how smooth the engine turns over. then get back to me, luvmysxs@yahoo.com

recharge the battery and it will start for at least 20 minutes had the same problem if it sits for more than a day you will have to give it a quick charge

Either your battery is no good (won't hold a charge)or your quad's charging system isn't working.
To test the charging system, charge up the battery and then start the quad. Turn the headlights off. With the engine running at medium speed measure the voltage right on the battery terminals. It should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts DC.
