My new dilema is the clutch. When I hold the clutch and put the bike into gear it leaps like I don't have a clutch. I adjusted it as far as it will go and it  made no difierence. I am preparing to remove the side cover to see what's up and I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there will be any suprises like; springs, washers, ect. that will come flying out once the cover is removed and will there be a need for some special tool that I most likely don't have in my box? Also, any tips on the clutch will be a great help. No manual.
I read in another forum that 90 to 250cc chinese bikes are wet clutch systems. If that is true, is it lubricated by the crankcase oil?  I know these are pretty lame questions, however I have been trying very hard to get this bike going and I don't want to forget something or make any costly mistakes. Thanks again for the help.

yes your clutch is a wet clutch, so before removing the side cover make sure to drain the oil, nothing will jump out at you after the cover removed, it's pretty streight forward thing, to remove clutch nut it's a lot easier if you use a 1/2" impact wrench, after you remove the nut then the clutch will just slid off the shaft.

Thanks billl2099, Are there any adjustments I can make to troublshoot before I disassemble the clutch, besides the cable adjustment? Also, I have read in here that the motor I am working on may be a Yamaha clone. Do you know anything about this? I can only assume through pictures that I have a Tao Tao ATA250E. Not sure??

only adjustments are the clutch cable, yes,the manual transmission chinese quads use a yamaha clone, the automatic chinese quads use the honda clone engine.  doesn't really matter what brand chinese quad you have they all use the same parts, e-bay has just about any part you want or need.

After pulling the side cover off I found the clutch assembly was extremely dirty and had this gooey stuff all over it. I cleaned it completely and reassembled and now it runs like a top. It's actually pretty fast as well. I have NO experience with other quads but I ran through a couple of good sized mud holes today and the bike didn't bog down or loose power. It kicked right through. It is certainly not a racing machine but it will make a good hunting vehicle. I plan to use it next weekend. It's muzzle-loader season down here in South Florida. If I get a big hog I will be able to see if it will drag it back to the truck. Many thanks to billl2099, Fmxlevi, sw3507 and especially LynnEdwards for your patience and knowledge and advice that helped me get my machine up and hauling ass.
