1986 Fourtrax starts and dies

We have an '86 foutrax that starts fine, but as soon as you try to ride off it dies. We cleaned the fuel filter? Any other suggestions? Could this be a dirty carborator?
Any help will be much appreciated...thanks.

It sounds like the main circuit of the carb. isn't getting enough fuel. I would clean the carb. first and see if that helps.
