Hi, I am new to this forum and seeking help on this issue. 1995 trx 300 won't idle
unless choke is a 1/4 on. I have taken the carb off twice,soaked, and made sure all
the open ports are clear, changed and reset spark plug, re-adjusted pilot screw to
factory setting--2-1/4 turns out-checked fuel valve--it also backfires and misses when you give it the gas when the choke is off--also lacks power and fuel knocks(pings) when you try to ride it with the choke off--runs great with the choke a 1/4 on--can't figure it out--any ideas--please let me know--thanks in advance--it was running fine up until this happened when i started it up one day after setting for about two weeks--owned for about five years---no problems until now

If you have the carb. as clean as you could get it. Then check the fuel line, fuel shutoff valve, and tank for debris/gunk.
