stay away from chineese machines. iv'e been riding since mid 70's ridden alot of quads since 86 when they first came out .i am a Yamaha rider and very happy with the brand .stick with the big 4 companies that have been doing it for a long time with alot of R&D behind them. most of all get the machine that will satisfy your needs the best.do your homework .also try to look up different magazine web sites and check reviews see what they liked and didn't .you might learn something about a quad that intrests you. Every rider is going to tell you what they like. bottom line, its simillar to buying a truck dodge, chevy, ford. its all preference! there will always something you will like best about each ones features.

If I had to do it over I would still get a Honda. There are several very good brands like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Arctic Cat, etc. I am not a fan of Polaris or Chinese atv's. If you are looking for a particular model of an atv, look for reviews on it. If possible test drive the atv's you are interested in. Good Luck!

stay away from arctic cat. they have this obsession with fire. they like to be covered in it. honda are very reliable machines, i have had two hondas in my life. a recon and a trx450. the recon all i had to do was replace headlight bulbs. the 450, clean the carb. the polaris sportsman series are good quads and can handle mud but they like to act up if the radiator ends up balls deep in mud, they also like laying on their side. i cannot say much about suzuki 4x4's i have never owned one, but i also havent heard anything bad about them. the big bear is a great machine. if you asked my opinion, look into the yamahas or the hondas.
