1991 honda 200 trx help runs for awhile

the engine runs good for about 5 mins then shuts off will start back in 30 seconds of setting time are shorter the harder i run it found one wire burnt and had been repaired before going to the cdi when problem happens bike just shuts down at idle it does really good at first then it starts to miss i replaced carb with new one spark plug is usally covered in carbon like a ingition problem when problem happens it floods you can fell it coming on from the missing should i replace cdi thanks

i had a 87 sx 200 (same thing ) i had a burnt coil an cdi problem with mine try that an u should be good i also had another stall problem it would run a few then die well turned out to be a old gas line that would shrink when it started to get warm an pinch off fuel hope this info helps any further questions ask

i thought about the gas i replaced hose but the petcock is riged on the gas tank with jb weld (before i got it) but the gas flow i drained a gallon threw tank and threw carb. no real interuption but that is a concern i dont think i could find a tank for it i have heard the gas cap can cause problems it just a junker but that little handa engine is strong until it stops

it could posibly be the petcock i have never had a problem with gas caps even tho they have breathers ive got race caps that dont vent worth a darn an no diff did you replace spark plug it could be fowled out but if you have then i would have to go with your coil or cdi box bad

i have got both ordered cdi and coil pack tryed a couple spark it just leaves a carbon on it when problem happens then when running spark plug ok weird thanks i will post on results

got cdi and coil pack replaced same thing found it losing voltage in the lock set by passed found wiring harness burnt in several places waiting on wire harness does same thing with old cdi or new do not know what made everything melt help any one

u might try ebay also i have a 250 fourtrax and when motor gets hot mine dies out and have to wait until it cools off to start again i think i will try new fuel line

i replaced wiring harness still had problem but fixed other problems changed petcock and fuel lines and gas cap still had problem changed cdi still had problem changed pulse, spark plug and coil still had problem replaced lock set problem fixed i have read this is a problem on the early model trx 200, 250 put so much in it time and money i went ahead and put new tires and rims completly rebuilt the whole bike has ran strong for two weeks
