99 WARRIOR BOGGING (TRIED EVERYTHING)

Hi, everyone
I have a 99 warrior and it idle's great and if I slowly give it gas it will rev up, but if I hit the throttle fast it will just quit out and stall.
Everything is stalk. I have 170psi commpression. full of gas, oil changed, I have cleaned all the wiring, carb, new plug (good colour), cheaked the parking break wire, cheaked timming and it is dead on. plus i went over and back a tooth just to see and still the same. I took the air box lid off and tried (no difference). I tried everything everyone on here said would be the problem, but no luck.
The only thing that is wrong it the exhaust had really big hloes in it, but were welded up(still alot of leaking). I can't really see that causing that much of a problem.
I would like to figure it out cause i haven't even road it yet, and would like to.
If there is any other ideas that could be tried please let me know.
thanks in advance

Anyone? I heard on another forum that when you push the throttle all the way it will bogg. There is a guy that ownes 2 of them and bought them both brand new and they did that from day one.
Does this sound right?
I would like to go out for a ride this afternoon, but info would be great.
Thanks again

it may be because of the exhaust, if it has leaks, thats allowing more air to flow through it, this causes it to suck more air because it has the capability. this would throw the fuel/air mixture off, this would cause it to bog or cut out. i would look into a new exhaust and maybe re-jet it. or just adjust the carb to deal with the extra air leaks..

thanks i will get a new one, hopfuly that does it. I thought maybe go up on the main jet would do it. I also noticed that the fuel/air screw was stripped and it doesn't go in all the way, looks like its out around 5-6 turns and spec is 1 1/4 to 2 turns out. plus the exhaust is messed up bad to.
I think its just getting way to much air to fuel and that would explain when you punch it from idle it boggs and wants to die and a little back fire to go with it sometimes, unless the back fire is coming from the holes in the exhaust.
well, to make that long story short i will get a new carb and exhaust and i will up date the post.
Thanks

first check fuelflow make sure gas flows out of line when removed from carb if not check fuel petcock/valve without hose on it then check filter for flow if all good then unscrew top of carb where cable goes in lift the e clip up on the pin in the center of the slider this will reduce how much fuel goes into motor when opening throttle. remember which notch was original position if it dosent help.you could also lower it to give more fuel sooner if motor is starving for fuel

good luck! chances are if the mixture screw was stripped then that was deffinetly it. if you get an aftermarket exhaust be sure to jet the carb properly! not only will it solve the problem but it will add some more balls to it.

they are both yamahas so maybe, but the fact that ones a 350 and one is a 400 will probably come into play. i would just look into getting a jardine off craigslist, they are quality pips, and not very expensive. plus you get a new header pipe with it

Just to let everyone know, my problem is fixed.
It was the accelerator pump in the carb, and a now put a 150 main jet in it.
Now when I punch the throdle from idle it goes.
I still need to change the exhaust, but everything is good. So if anyone has the same prob I had do I as I did and all MIGHT be good.
Thanks to all for your input, helped alot.

Check your Coil lines, look for a short or broken wire in your harnnes or a bad ground to the coil. I just went through total Hell taking my carb off 100 times. I had a half broken ground wire to my coil that cause weak spark and all the symptoms you described. The weak spark made the plug appear to be fouling from a rich air fuel mixture. It had all the symptoms of a bad carb but it wasn't! Save yourself a huge amount of headaches. Just because yopu have spark does not mean there is a bad ground or broken wire causing the problem.
