OK im looking into buying a 03 polaris sportsman 600, the guy said 1 of the connecting rods was going bad (he has the engine down) and i was looking on the parts diagrams and it doesn't seem like you could pull it apart to replace it, what the hell!!! And there doesn't seem to be any replacement parts on the net.

the crank needs to go to a machine shop to use a hydraulic press to separate crank halves replace rod if surface is within tolerance for new bearing then pressed back together

I think you need to buy a complete crankshaft with rods. Probably why the guy is selling. I would be carefull about a bike you cant ride due to the fact it can have other expensive problems to fix. It might be a money pit if its been riden hard and mud bogged.
