1986 YFM225 idle problem

Was given this old non running machine. Cleaned out gas and carb and it started right up and runs fine when revs are up and through all gears. Will idle fine for 5 or 10 seconds then it blows out a burst of air and dies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to take your carb apart and clean it. Your idle jet is clogged. You have to take all jets out and make sure you can see thru them, the holes are very small and easily clogged but not easily unclogged. Also check your petcock and airfilter.
