i got a 1997 polaris explorer 400 4x4.....and it boggs out when i give it gas and back fires and it looks like it's flooding out the backside of carb!!!!!!help me please!!!!!!

check the floats to be sure they aren't sticking, also check the floats to be sure they haven't rattled loose, then clean them out.

if it's still doing it the try turning the fuel/air mixture screw to the right 1/4-1/2 turn

it sounds like the problem i had your floats are made of plastic and are held in place by a steel rod and they wear out so you need a new float probley i couldent find my problem the dealer told me what the problem was and it fixed it 3 years ago and still working good luck

ok now i got another question???......what are reeves or reefes? dont know what those are but those might be bad and my carb is still spitting gas????

reeds are used on 2 cycle engines, they go in front of the carburetor and are flat pieces made of fiberglass or carbon.

check the carb cleaning 101 post in atv repair and maintenance for jets and floats

will a 1995 400 sportsman 4x4 mikuni carburetor fit on my 1997 explorer????
