i was out riding the other day and when i would pin it the quad would sorta just stop giving it gas for a second, throwing me forward, then start again. it was like i let off and got on it real quick. it doesnt do this at a steady past, just when i let her loose. any help? the quad has a high compression piston, hot cam, hmf exhaust... is this a carb issue? or are the 04's fuel injected. i dont believe they are, but i honestly havent even looked to see if its carburated. the odd part is when i was riding it two weeks before hand, it didnt do this. any ideas would be appreciated. i am new to hondas, always been a suzuki boy. thanks.

it does sound like a carburetion issue.
either your carb needs to be cleaned out, or the fuel ir mixture is off, try turning the fuel/air mixture screw to the left 1/4-1/2 turn.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

Your float in the carb may be getting stuck if its a delivery issue and you can tap the side of the carb with like the butt a scew driver and it should free up the float inside. If its getting stuck it would explain gas on, gas off.
