I recently bought my daughter a used 2002 Polaris Trail Boss.  When I bought engine oil from my dealer,I was told the capacity was 2 quarts. After changing the oil I noticed the oil level on the dipstick was way above the top mark on the "safe" range. I removed enough oil, almost a quarter quart, to bring the level down to the top of the "safe" range!" The shop manual I bought says this model's capacity is 2 quarts, the dealer's mechanic says don't overfill,go by the top mark. Who's right!?
