Hello,
I am looking at buying my first ATV. I've been in the performance watercraft world all my life, and I have finally decided to move on to different powersports.
I have some knowledge on atv's. I have rode them before, and have looked at several different models.
The models I have tested are.
KTM 450 YFZ 450 Raptor 700 Kawasaki 450mx Suzuki LTD 450
I absolutely loved them all.
I am wondering which one would be best for me. I will mostly be doing trail riding, and some sand riding.
I am a total speed demon, and gear head as well. I am 100% positive in a few short months after I get one I will be wanting to start wrenching on it, and adding performance parts.
Any and recommendations or comments will be greatly appreciated.
- Kevin

the yfz is by far the fastest out of them all. the ktm is nice. but expensive. suzuki and kawisaki are fast also and easy to ride. but the yfz takes it in most cases. its fast, handling is good, easy to modify, and the desgin consept is pretty simple. good luck. i myself ride a moded out trx450. but thats a racer. for trails, i would get a yfz!

I just picked up a 2005 Kawasaki KFX 400 quad in good shape for $2000. It's the same as a Suzuki LTZ 400. This is my first quad and I did some research to find out it's a great all around trail riding/racing quad. Check eBay or Craigslist for some great deals on nearly new KFX/LTZ 400 quads! -Steve

i have had countless z400's give me a run for my money on the trails of wisco. i do see alot of them out there too. if you mod it out right you can make them quite fast, but they still have yet to beat my trx450 a few have come close but no cigar.
