what do you mean by it wont stay in gear? as in it will getinto gear and drop back into neutral, or it wont go into gear at all, or does it die when you put it into gear?

My husband says it goes right back into neutral. Hope that helps a little.

the clutch is what allows the engine to switch gears. if its dropping straight back into neutral then the clutch is not fully engaging. this is not something most people can fix in their garage, unless he has alot of knowledge with atv's, i recomend having him take it to a dealer. and having them fix it.
