Ok Now I need you help... My problem is very close to yours. I have a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 90cc that ran great up until this weekend. On the trail it would start / idel just fine, give it throttle and you were off for about 100 yards and then it would boog down to a stop. Feather the throtle and maybe it would move. Turn it off / On (restart) and it would run again for another 100 yards. I replaced the fule filter= ok cleaned air box = looked good (no flooding), new spark plug = ok, cleaned carb inside and out and re-assembled = no effect (problem still there).....
There is a white cermic resistor / block under the front right fender that got really hot (could not touch it)... Did not think that this is normal, but not sure even what it is or if it has anything to do with my issue...
Please Help!

I'm new to this site, but came across your post and it sounded just like my experience with my son's 2000 scrambler 90. It would start and run until you got a little distance and quit. I checked everything and then took it to our dealer. The mechanic hopped on it and sure enough it quit when he got across the parking lot. He started it back up and drove up to us and said "I know what's wrong with it". He unscrewed the gas cap and said it didn't have enough gas. Even though you could see plenty of gas in the tank, apparently the reserve is just the lower part of the tank. So even though it looked like it had plenty of fuel, it didn't. He switched over to reserve and it ran fine. I felt like a fool, but learned a lesson. Your problem may be a totally different issue, but it sounds similar.

the 2001 and 2002 scrambler 90's had automatic electric choke before they realized it was junk and went to a cable choke in 2003. mine stayed on all the time on my 2001. my symtoms were: starts ok. if you hop on it cold it would run pretty well for a minute, but when it started warming up it would bog and die unless you played with the throttle and really revved it up. i bought a kit to replace the auto choke. it bolts on the carb and gives you a choke lever like many other quads have. it was 30 bucks. i can get you one if you need it
