i toyed with it for a few more hours today and finally noticed the jet, next to the main jet in the middle of the bowl, was still clogged. i fixed that and still wont idle, you can tell it wants to but it wont. so i ripped it apart and stared at it for about ten minutes. then i realized the screw that stops the float from moving all the way up was screwed all the way in. so it was no where near catching the float and leaving the needle valve open a hair. i losende it so it caught the floats and the overflow tube started shooting gas out. so i adjusted it so it just barely catches the floats. i plan to try it again sunday afternoon. do you think this may be the problem?

could be but i still think you need a smaller pilot jet.
the pilot and an idle screw control idle and the main controls throttle.
does it run great besides the idle issue?
wish i was there we could dial that thing in.
will dig around the shop again today to see if i have a smaller pilot anywhere.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

does it run great besides the idle issue? you had mentioned it produced some good power. wish i was there we could dial that thing in.

but i do think you will need an idle screw.
sometimes you can adjust the cable and get idle with these, and sometimes you have to actually have to have an idle screw, depending on the atv you put it on and if your cable has one or two adjusters.
great carbs though.

it runs great now, no cutting out or sputting. it just wont idle. the only time i can get it to idle is when it will barely idle then rev way high and kill, i think it was doing that because that jet was clogged. and the cable has on adjuster right where it meets the twist throttle. if this was on a 240 blaster i would think the jet would be close enough for a 230, it has a jardine exhaust on it so it should be sucking more air and gas. i will try it later and let you know if it idles yet.

i just tried it and the first time i started it it idled great, it sounded good when i cracked the throttle, but after that now it will idle okay, but when you crack the throttle it revs high again. it will sometimes rev high for a while then kill, and sometimes it will just stay reved up. still think the jets too big?
