I am working on a 50cc chinese atv for a friend.  THe remote kill swith melted.  I just disconnected the remote but it will still not start.  Some of the remote wires were milted as well.

I have no spark and would like to see a wiring diagram if anyone can help me thanks in advance.

The way the remote module kills the spark is via the kill switch wire which goes to the CDI.  I'm wondering if this line melted and shorted to ground (which would kill the spark).

Take an ohmmeter and measure from the kill switch pin on the CDI wiring harness to engine ground with the ignition switch turned on and all the other kill switches turned off.  It should be open (infinite resistance).  If it is shorted to ground then there is where you need to concentrate.  If it is open then you need to look elsewhere, but I'm betting kill switch wiring.

Is this your CDI?
