Spring PIN
How do I get them out and in? Is there a special tool I need ? I have bent two punches tring to drive one out on the front CV drive shaft. I started to drill on one last night. The drill bits are not HARD enought.

Not sure why its so tough. I have some long tapered punches that should get it started. Probably once its out a ways it will come easier.

ATOMANT Thanks I purchased some Titanum bit last night.These pin are not your every day spring pin they look like a peice of rolled spring steel to make a pin

They call them roll pin punches. They have a little nipple on the end and have a straight shaft

I wouldnt drill it. If it goes crooked you will damage the housing. Like I said once you get it moving it should come out. I have a set of Snap on roll pin punches and even they will bend if the pin is too tight. Start it moving with a heavy duty taper punch with the small end large enough to get the pin at least part way out. Then switch to a smaller punch to drive it out.
