Hey I have a 95' honda fourtrax 300 that i recently bought thinking it just needed a top-end, I took it to honda dealer and they pushed kick start and said it also needed a new crank shaft cause of how low the compression was...Ive talked to about 3 shops and all of them say u cant really tell by a kick start and they think its prob just needing the valves checked.. I know it needs new top end cause it smokes pretty bad and the compression is low but how can a crank shaft make a difference?

doesn't, i don't know why they would tell you that, prob just want more money.
