I have a 2006 yamaha wolverine 350 auto 2wd. I bought it about 2 months ago and the battery that was in it wouldnt keep a charge, so i assumed it was the battery. I purchased a new battery from wal mart followed the instructions to a T, and the same thing happend. I can charge the battery to  a full charge and after ridding for a full day or over a couple of days ridding the battery looses its charge. I put a volt meter on the battery and started it and as i increased the throttle it didnt increase the voltage.

sounds like the cdi is bad (overegulating the voltage returned to the battery) or the stator is weak and not producing enough voltage.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!
