What size are the head studs/bolts? a 3/8 high tensile stud could take up to 55 ft/lbs. If its a 5/16 stud it would be 35 ft/lb max.

Most studs in engines are high tensile and good enough quality to be reused many times. I wouldnt go more than 20 - 25 ft/lbs and preferably the lesser torque. If it still feels like its tightening you can go to the high limit of 25 ft/lbs. But if it feels like the stud is just stretching then stop at 20.

Thanks atomant,
Thats is where I torqued them (20'#). It is a great thing to have you guys to help, that means you to Wolf1.
Now I am looking to increase to power on this 90. Read some info about milling the jug down to tighten the clearance between the head and the piston. They say about .040 off the cylinder will give a noticable difference. Then maybe a different rev limiter, bigger carb and performance pipe. Any other ideas? I love to read this stuff but can not afford much at this point.
Thanks again

Save your money and buy a bigger quad. In the meantine keeping the tires inflated properly and the air filter clean and the engine in good tune is the thing you could do for performance.
