Im pretty sure its the water pump. when running if you remove the cap on the radiator it looks like it is flowing but not that strong. It starts smoking out of the radiator after a few minutes of riding. im new to 4 wheelers and i didnt no if a sensor like on a car would do this. but the fan does turn on when it gets hot. if anyone knows let me know. i was going to take out the water pump. it looks like you have to take the pull start cover off and everything else behind it. any step by step will help. thanks

Thermostat? Make sure the radiator is clean and not plugged up with mud. Perhaps remove the rad and wash it out if its in an awkward place.

Its you temp sensor . I had a 2000 400 that had the same problem test you fan to make sure it works just use a jumper wire where it plugs in just follow the wire from your radiator to where the sensor screws into the side of the motor. Good luck hope this info helps. Mullins2

sounds like maybe the radiator is a little clogged, try flushing it out well
