All,
I have a 2005 Arctic Cat 400 FIS and my cooling fan will not come on at all. I have an identical 2005 400 FIS and the cooling fan works normally.
What I have tried so far:
1. Checked cooling fan to make sure the fan itself works by hooking it up to a the battery directly and it works fine. 2. Checked all fuses. 3. Replaced cooling fan switch (very expensive by the way) still nothing.
I would appreciate any thoughts on what the problem might be. Also the fan did work when I first purchased the machine.

There should be a temp switch to tell the fan to come on. Everyone is putting a toggle switch in to by pass the oem switches.
Heres my toys YFZ450 "06" jet kit, zip tie mod, cam mod, sold Raptor 350 "06" stock, sold Predator 90 "06" stock, sold

Hi -
Your problem is most likely the diode in the negative leg of the fan plug! If the diode blows there is no connection to ground hence the fan will not run. The diode acts as a gate valve for the ground for the fan. How that said you could just jumper out the diode however there is a .7 volt drop across the diode and I do NOT know if that is important to the operation of the fan motor.
