when i first got my quad the wiring was shot, wires were melted together and it was just a mess. i cut a huge chunk out and re wired it myself. it worked but after i took it for a ride it did the same thing, the wire coatings all melted together and shorted it out, its blowing fuse's as fast as you can put them in. i wanted to know if anyone has anywhere to get a NEW wiring harness, not used. and what do i do to keep the wires from melting again?

i am experiencing the same melting problem on my 98 quadrunner. All I can say is good luck solving that problem. I have gone through every inch of my electrical since last fall. I was told originally it was a bad regulator. New one didn't fix it. This spring I found someone with a good cdi, plus they had a wiring harness with the fuse block and other electrical junctions on it. Still didn't solve the problem. Have tested the stator for output and continuity. All within specs. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SUCK!!!! I'm breaking down and taking it to a dealer tomorrow so they can charge $50 an hour to redo what i did.

the only thing i can think of that would solve it is to re wire it myself and give each wire its own individual coating. so it has no other wires near it to melt with.
