i recently bought a used 400ex. rode it for several days, putting around got on it hard a little bit on a straight away in the woods at my house. well about a week after i got it i was casually riding the 4 wheeler, i stopped, shut it off while in gear. got on it later, put it in neutral as usual, cranked it up, pulled the clutch, n shifted to first, it lurched forward. now it is not engaging at all. Does this mean that the clutch went out??? i took the right hand case off looked at the clutch and it looks similar to a new one at the honda dealership in comparison to thickness, could this be a clutch issue, or is it something bigger??? any help  would be definitely appreciated. I just do not want to pay the dealership to look at it when i can perform most of the maintenance and repair myself. thanks.

with the side cover off pull clutch lever see if pressure plate plate is moving outward 1/8 inch or more.

if not check clutch cable, if cable is fine check pressure plate actuator rod.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!
