so i took your advice and invested in a 22 piece jet kit. the carb i have on my 230 is called a keihin pj model. so i tried every single jet in the kit, and it still cuts out. im trying to get rid of the quad and get my hands on a 450 but in the mean time i should at least get it running good. any ideas? if i can figure out how, i will post a video of it so you can hear it for yourself.

what size is the pj? 28, 34?
it could be that the carb is just too big drawing in more air than the engine can handle.
do you still have the stock carb?

the carb came off of a honda 250r so its prolly a 34. i think i have the stock carb somewhere but there is a part of the throttle or choke broken in it so its not able to be used. i figured with the jardine exhaust it would handle running more air through it. is there anything i can do other than buy a new carb?

i dunno at this point, if the pj came off a 250r then yes it's going to suck alot of air. no way to really regulate it precisely and most likely jets won't help in your situation. a 34mm carb is pretty huge for 230 (i think 219cc roughly) 4 cycle engine, when you figure a 34mm keihin pj is used for 240cc - 250cc 2 cycle engine. it's just too big of a jump for what you have.
i would definately go with a different carb. meanwhile if you want to sell that pj at a decent price i would be interested in putting it on my 240cc blaster.

what price are you thinking? for a little extra i could send a 22pc jet kit along with it.

wolf go ahead and email me at lilbam_skateszooyork@hotmail.com if you want the carb and jets. we can work a price out then. if its the wrong carb i have no need for it or the jets.

wolf, my emails to you keep being sent back. it say your not accepting emails from my account. i would trade straight up for your mikini carb if you want. does the slider come with? or do we just keep the ones on them now?

no send the slider as well, my carb is complete slider and all but you may need a throttle cable for it to work but may not.
send me a pm that way we can exchange addresses.
