My two kids and myself (mom) are buying quads. We've ridden lots of them, but I'm not sure what size to buy. My son is 12 and weighs 110lb, my daughter is around 105lb. Both are pretty strong, with sports and living on a farm. We will mostly be trail riding, both are conservative and are not looking for sports bikes.
Thanks!

I am young and can handle a honda foreman 500 just fine.  It all depends on their skills and how strong they are i would suggest something like a honda recon 250 or bigger if you think they can handle it.  I would definatly suggest honda because of their reliabilty.  I would suggest a Honda Rancher for you.  You could even get 2wd models if you are going to be only on trails
Happy riding.

my son was 12 when we got his first yamaha blaster, learning to shift and use a clutch was a little bit of a trick, but he got it fairly quickly, my suggestion would be buy them a couple of raptor 250's you can always turn the throttle limiter screw in,  and they'll have years to grow into them as they are strong enough to carry an adult.

and yamaha has an awesome reputation for quality!!
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

do yourself a favor and don't even think about buying chinese atv's, these quads are crap right from the beginning.

200-250 would be suitable. look into the kawisaki mojave, yamaha blaster, suzuki 230.

Bought my wife a 350 Raptor she 160#, my twin girls are 120# and they ride it just fine. I bought my 6 year old 80# a Polaris Preditor 90, automatic. Every one rides the 90. YFZ450 for me but all can ride this beast. It is all about them knowing there limits, how much throttle and how many gears.

Have fun
