my vinson will only go 48 mph.it sputters when throttle is wide open and back=fires when you let off. i changed spark plug and cleaned carb and air box.any suggestions

well it could possibly be the valves out of adjustment, check the compression and let me know.
could also be the timing is off.
pull the spark plug, put it in the splug wire cap, turn the engine by hand until it fires, the check to see if the piston is all the way up.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!
