Ive got a 87 Suzuki lt 230 that wont start. The previous owner said the cdi was bad. The cdi along with the coil was replaced and it still wont start. We towed it around to try and get it going, the engine had compression but wouldnt run on its own. The spark plug was replaced and is getting gas. The front light would come on when it was being towed around. Ive got the manual for it and have been looking over it and was wondering if a problem with the engine kill switch could prevent it from starting? Anybody have similar problem?

yes the kill switch could be shorted out, if this is the case then it either wont start, or won't shut off.
well if the light comes on when you are towing it around then chances are the stator is in good working condition.
HOwever it could be that the stator has a little rust on it causing it to give a weak spark.
is it firing at the spark plug?
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

i doubt it is even that. the kill switch id just a rod that is resting in a cavern like insert. if the screw that the switch pivots on is not tight the kill switch will jump out of that cavern. there for you slide it to run but it is really still killed. take apart that casing and tighten the screw before you do anything drastic.
