i have a yamaha warrior 350 that is ALL stock and ive been askin some of the locals what to do and ive heard to take the air box cover off, and open up the exhaust port which brings me to my question... this is all for basically $0. i want to replace my stock 1 1/4 in. exhaust and muffler with a 1 3/4 in. pipe with no muffler all the way out from the block. would i hurt anything and if not would i have to get a jet kit for my bike? if you have any other suggestions on cheap ways to make the bike run better and fater let me know it would be greatly appreciated. (keep in mind a poor highschool/ part time college student... lol)

thank you,

you would most likely have to rejet.

the main problem is with doing this is that you need to make sure that cold air cannot flow back into the head after it has been running and is hot.
doing so will most likely warp or burn a valve.

you'll need to be careful and use an exhaust plug for when it is not running.

cheap ways to get more power are to remove the baffle from the exhaust, go with either a larger front gear for more top end  or a larger rear gear for more (sprocket) low end performance.

advance the timing, which is probably best done with a hot cdi box.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!
