I bought my 05 new and it has about 600 miles on it.  Used mainly around the farm.  It starts and idles well but under load it runs rough.  The plug is fouling with black carbon which usually means too rich. I have cleaned the plug and even put a new one in with no change. I also drained the float chamber.  Is there any adjustments other than the idle screw on these carbs?  What about the automatic choke?  thanks.

there should be a mixture screw on the carb.

it does sound like it is running rich. i would turn the fuel/air mixture screw clockwise about 1/4-1/2 turn to start with, and go further if needed. but keep up with where it was sitting before you started and how many 1/4 turns you make.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!
