I am sure the new Suzukis are great but there is just something about the older ones (1980's).  About 10 years ago I had a Suzuki lt230 (1983??).  It had next to nothing for suspension but that bike went almost every where the other ATVs went.  It was very reliable.  It pulled all of my friends bikes out of the woods at least once!

The 230 only had to be towed once and that was because I got stupid and started doing jumps with it.  I cracked the frame and the drive shaft dropped.  About an hour later it was humming around with a newly welded and reinforced frame.

The funniest trip I went on was with an engineer friend of mine.  He constantly made fun of my bike because he had purchased a new 4x4 fully automatic 450 (polaris I think but I am not sure).  The first day we went riding, I had to pull him out of the woods!!!  One of his cooling hoses got torn out!  I never let him live that down!

To this day I am a fan of the older... lower-tech bikes.

I am sure once my kids get older and I start looking to do long distance riding, I will want a fancy bike with all the bells and whistles.
