2001 kodiak 4x4 light blinks on and off at times

I have a 2001 Kodiak . I installed new wheel bearings in front today. the problem started after I installed the bearings. the 4x4 light blinks on and off several times after I use the 4x4 ( Push Button ) and sounds like its not coming out of 4x4 and you can hear and feel a loud pop sound and then the light stops blinking and feels like its out of 4x4. when in 4x4 it works fine. its when you take it out of 4x4 where the problem occurs . any help or knowledge would be thankful.
