Just picked up a 2003 yamaha kodiak 450 4x4 with the auto trans.  My question is this... The gear shift indicator light does not always go on indicating that it is in P or N or R.  sometimes I have to rock it or rev it..., any thoughts on this

my and two of my friends  kodiaks do the same thing on park and neutral ...yamaha dealer said its a common problem that cant really be fixed ...when putting in park you have to rock it and push on the shifter ...and neutral you just need luck and for reverse i dont know ...but all 3 bikes do the same thing ....yours might need to be adjusted but if you can life with it then ride
