ok i have a 2002 suzuki quad master 500 and i was out riding all day yesterday with no problems at all but when it started to get dark i realized that my head lights didn't work so i replaced the fuse and it all went down hill from there i pushed the start buttom and it cranked but never started so we pull started it and it fired right up idled for about 30 seconds and dies out like its starving for gas but when you hit the gas it makes it die right away so we checked all the fuses again and the only one that was blown was the head lights any idea maybe electrical?  

sounds like a dead short.defenatly to do with the lights.is there power to the switch?any bare wires exposed,or rubbing through.how old is your battery?can you get it tested?
