I just bought this quad(used)...started and ran it when i bought it didnt notice anything wrong with it...kept it in my buddies storage garage for about 2 months til today..took it home today started up fine took it for a run, brought it back...and i noticed it in neuatral first, when idling it just kept revving on idle. i hit the throttle thinking maybe it was semi-clogged and when i hit that...it kept the rpm of whatever i throttled it at...and kept going higher after a few seconds. turned off the quad..started up idled normal, hit the throttle started pinging again..then i put it in drive, and sat there and on the garages smooth surface i could start to roll. (when in N, it did rev up the same just very slower then when i hit the throttle) do you guys think its possiby carb? im guessing thats all it could be...just wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience, Thanks.

Haven't had this experience, but you could get some cable lube( or WD40, PBBlaster, etc), lube the inside of the throttle cable and the linkage on the carb/ throttle body (if equipped). With it sticking wherever you set the throttle to, it sounds like you could be missing a return spring, or the cable is corroded inside the sheathe. There should be a spring pulling opposite the cable. Also lube the thumb throttle pivot points. Check all these things before tearing into the carb.Moisture and dirt will cause most of these things so it wont hurt to eliminate them all.
