I have a 1987 honda 200sx and well not run and it is a pain to get started i need help bad iam new with atv's and need answers?

is it getting spark at the plug and is it getting fuel through the carb?

remove the spark plug and place the spark plug into the spark plug cap, lay the metal side of the spark plug against the cylinder head so that it will groung against the engine and while watching the end of spark plug electrode turn the engine over see if it sparks when you turn it over.
on the carburetor there is a drain screw on the bowl. turn it to the left see if fuel is coming out of the overflow tube on the bottom of the bowl.
this will help narrow it down.
