My recommendation is to purchase a "factory" repair manual. It will give you specific instructions on how to do it and will more than likely come in handy for future repairs.

if this was my old honnda 400 it'd be done already, but this is deffernt than that and its my first non honda.
im a ase master tech, i know my *stuff, however the yamaha is new to me. All i need is for someone to tell me what the hell gets shimmed. from what it looks like the only thing that i could shim and appears as if it would make a difference would be the spring seats. is this correct? im not asking for a how-to, or a detailed description of what to do. i simply want to know what needs to be shimmed.
i find it hard to believe theres not 1 person on here that can just tell me that.
