Hi Folks.
I'm new to ATV Rider and hope I'm posting to the appropriate forum. I need a recommendation for an ATV that will handle snow removal in my (long) driveway. Any help will be mucho appreciated.
I've never owned or ridden an ATV before and know zippo about them, so the more info (size engine, brand, transmission type, good place to buy, etc.) the better.
TIA,
Fitz

my personal choice would be either the honda rancher or the yamaha grizzly.

definately go water cooled, as this type of slow moving task could possibly cause an air cooled atv to overheat even in the winter.

i have heard some use a polaris sportsman for this purpose, but there have been posts on here about them either overheating because the cooling fanm went out or the charging system being weak on them.
and i have personally seen alot of the polaris sportsman atv's for charging system failure here at my shop.

Thanks for the advice, Wolf1. That definitely makes sense about going water cooled.
I checked out the Honda and Yamaha, and noticed the Grizzly comes in lots of variants. What would be the minumum size engine you'd go with for moving snow? I'm on a budget, but don't want to buy one that's going to wimp out on me when the going gets tough!

the 450 would do the job but if you can afford a larger engine it would do ya better.

the honda rancher you can get in several sizes, main thing is to make sure it is heavy enough to get good traction and has enough power to push the snow with ease.
and of course water cooled.
look for last years models, you can normally buy last years models new cheaper than this years.
