I Have a 2003 Honda rancher and I removed the battery for a couple of month's while not in use. When I hooked it back up yesterday the digital speedometer reads in km instead on mph. Also now the odometer and hour meter show it having 999999.9 km of use. I've tried disconecting the battery again and it is working. any suggestions would be helpful

I have the same problem with my 2005 Honda Rancher. Dead battery, not in metric and not showing shifting gears or calculating distance. Talked to Honda, they just want me to bring it in and send me the bill for an undisclosed amount becuase they don't know what the problem is. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I have the same identical problem with my 05 rancher and i also talked with every honda shop and then some ...no one can figure it out. I even posted the problem on the ATV fourm connection . I had a couple of hits with no results to solve the deliema as a matter of fact one guy responded with this . He talked with an electrical engineer and he claims its toast the memory was loss and went into a default mode and thats why it shows all 9999999 on the miles and the real bad news is there is no way to rest the unit . Well i think if its got the capabilty to go from mph to metric it can be switched back. Their wasnt like their was an electrical short.Let me know if you come up with anything and i will do the same good luck. BAD TO THE BONE email address lovelltv@yhaoo.com
