I don't mean to sound too stupid but I have everything off but the clutch basket and don't know if I need a special tool to remove the clutch any suggestions?  

their's a locking tab that holding the clutch nut from spinning off, you need to bend back the tab first, then you can eaither buy a tool, make one out of a 7/16 socket, or what most people do is just take a punch and hammer and loosen the nut, these nuts are not overly torque and come off reather easy.
