Just picked up an older used arctic cat 400 4x4. starts when you jump it but wont stay running long when you disconnect it. seems like a charging problem. could it be the regulator? someone please help. Thanks

the stator and cdi box control charging.
check all of the connections but
my guess would be the stator, but check the cdi box as well.
