I got a taste of riding an sport ATV this week. I really enjoyed it.

I'm thinking of looking around to get one and the right equipment to ride it safely. I also found a course about 20 minutes from my house on this site.

Anyway, what are some things to look for when buying an used ATV? I've looking around on eBay motors and random websites. My uncle said he paid $1300 at auction for his. He has a 350cc one seater sport model. I think this type would work for me, although once I get a helmet I'd like one that goes a bit faster.

I'll have to save a for a little while before I actually buy. So I'd like to get an idea for what to look for.

Also what are typical maintainance schedules and costs?

Other good websites?

Thanks for all the info!

a very belated WELCOME!!!

maintenance shcdeules:
depending on the riding you do, i change the oil in mine every 3 months and as well the air filter.
however i inspect the atv everytime i ride.
make sure the chain has 3/4" of play check the axle bearings for wear, check the swing-arm bushings for wear, and make sure the brakes work.
it doesn't matter how fast you can go if the brakes don't work you wont be riding for long.
